Frequently Asked Questions

How do your tools work?

Browsers have become incredibly powerful and can now run complex applications entirely on your device. Our tools leverage this capability to process your data locally in your browser, ensuring that your files never leave your device.

Why are your tools free? What's the catch?

There's no catch. After hearing from some of our friends and family members that were affected by scams and shady credit card charges when searching for free tools, we wanted to create a safe, trustworthy place for people to access useful tools without risking their privacy or financial security. We fund our operations through our professional development services, allowing us to offer these tools for free while maintaining our commitment to user privacy.

How can I verify that my data is not being uploaded or stored?

Open the tool you want to use, then disconnect your device from the internet (by using Airplane Mode, turning off the Wi-Fi, etc). You can then use the tool as normal, and you will see that your data is processed locally in your browser without any issues. This is because all processing happens on your device, and no data is uploaded to our servers. If you're familiar with your browser's developer tools, you can also inspect the network activity in your browser to see that no data is being sent to any servers.

Can I use these tools on a public or shared computer?

It's always best to avoid using any online tools on public or shared computers, as you can never be sure if the device has been compromised with malware or keyloggers that could capture your data. If you do need to use our tools on a public or shared computer, we recommend using a private browsing window (Incognito mode) and ensuring that you log out of any accounts and clear the browser's cache and history after you're done. However, for maximum security and privacy, it's best to use our tools on your own personal device.

Can you give me some of the technical details on how your tools work?

Our PDF tools are built using a combination of JavaScript libraries that run entirely in the browser. We use pdf-lib for manipulating PDF files, which allows us to merge, split, and modify PDFs without needing to upload them to a server. For OCR (Optical Character Recognition) functionality, we utilize Tesseract.js, which is a JavaScript port of the popular Tesseract OCR engine. Both of these libraries run locally in your browser, ensuring that your data remains private and secure. Portions Copyright © 2026 René DeAnda used under MIT License.
