Local Sidekick - Chat with PDFs locally
Check out our new app: AI makes reviewing documents so much easier and faster. But there are documents we don't want to share with third-party companies or be used for training future AI models. Local Sidekick lets you chat with your PDFs without them ever leaving your device.
Important: Requires an iPhone 15 Pro or newer with Apple Intelligence enabled. Also works with iPads and Macs powered by M1 chips or later with Apple Intelligence. For more information, please visit https://support.apple.com/en-us/121115.
Unlock the power of the local AI already on your device to summarize, study, and chat with your PDFs — all processed entirely on your device. No cloud. No compromise. Just lightning-fast insights with total privacy.
🔐 Built for Privacy
Local Sidekick uses Apple’s on-device intelligence to analyze your documents. That means your data never leaves your iPhone. Whether you're reviewing sensitive contracts or studying for exams, your files stay yours—always. Want proof? Turn on Airplane Mode and keep chatting with your PDFs. Everything works offline—because everything runs locally.

Nope! Local Sidekick works entirely offline. You can chat with your PDFs even in Airplane Mode.
Are there any limitations?
There are no usage limits (other than your battery life!). Local Sidekick is optimized for text-based PDFs. It may not perform as well with scanned documents or images. Also, while the app leverages powerful AI models, it may occasionally produce inaccurate or incomplete information. Always double-check critical details.
Why do some options (like Summarize, Key Points, and Red Flags) return several responses?
To process large documents on-device, we need to break up the document into sections. As the local AI model on your device processes each section, it returns a response for each section. This allows you to get insights from the entire document while respecting your device's resources.
Can you support more document types in the future?
Yes, we're looking into adding more features in future versions!
